Energizer Hard Case Work Light Review

Last Updated: 25.05.19

Main advantage

Even though it is advertised as a work light and not a survival headlamp, this Energizer model can prove its worth under a plethora of circumstances. Whether you’re looking to use it as you do your job or you want to make sure that you never lose your way as you are trekking through the forest — in all of these situations, this model could come in handy. It’s powerful, effective, and even comfortable to use.

Main disadvantage

Although it is one of the most powerful devices in this particular line and even one of the most powerful ones designed by the brand, it does have a drawback. It has a runtime of just 3 hours and 30 minutes considering that its lumen output is 250 compared to flashlights whose output is 75 lumens, which can work for as many as six hours.

The higher the performance, the less likely it is for the headlamp to keep working for as long a time as lower-performance devices.

Main features explained

Convenience at its best

One aspect that appears to make the difference between this particular headlight and many others that we have come across is that it comes with two functions. Not only can you wear it on your head as you perform your daily tasks or when you go camping or exploring the great outdoors, but you can also mount it to anything metal because it is magnetic.

What this means for you is that you will be able to enjoy a steady stream of light even as your hands are completely free and your head, too. This function comes in handy for those times when you have to wear a hard hat or a cap, and so the elastic band that the unit comes with might not sit on your head.

Output and performance

The head light lets out an incredible amount of light given that its output is 250 lumens. To give you a pointer as to what this means, a regular flashlight can have around 75 lumens. The beam distance ensured by this particular design is 60 meters, so that’s really not bad at all. Again, with some flashlights, you’d get a beam distance of just 30 meters.

Much like some of the other models developed by Energizer, this one, too, can be used with standard AAA batteries. What this means for you is that you can get them at any store or even purchase rechargeable ones if you want to save some money in the long run.

Obviously, this is an advantage in itself as the batteries won’t take up a lot of room in your pockets or backpack and they will ensure that your headlamp keeps on working.

Last, but not least, this model is water-resistant and it can even survive a drop from up to 2 stories high.
